Registering a start-up or a new business in India first and foremost one has to go by, there are some official procedures a start-up or a company has to follow in order to register them in Indian official records. A few years back, MCA (ministry of Corporate Affairs) has made registration process online few years back.

One need not visit corporate office and can apply for registration from the comfort of one’s home. There are four major steps in registration of a company. They are acquisition of Digital Signature Certificate (DSC), acquisition of Director Identification Number (DIN), filing an electronic form or new user registration and incorporation of the company in India.

It’s necessary to get registered to run one’s business without any legal problem. India is a land of opportunity Irrespective of which domain one’s  business is operating, the chances of hitting success is very high. It just needs a start. Starting an entrepreneurship in India would fetch one great success.

In India, there are about 7 lakhs registered companies and every month thousands of firms apply for registration. According to Section 3 of companies act, a company means formation of a legal entity and registered under companies Act. Under the ministry of corporate affairs, every company must be registered by the registrar of companies for the state. As per this act, there are two types of companies namely private and public companies.

Acquisition of Director Identification Number (DIN) is the first process in registration in which each director of the company must obtain their identification number. As per the amendment act 2006, acquiring a DIN is mandatory for every director including every existing as well as intending directors.

Acquisition Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is the next step. As per the information act, all the documents filed electronically requires valid digital signature. The digital signature certificate should be acquired agencies prearranged by the controller of certification agencies (CCA). If one already have a digital signature then one can use the same and there is no need to apply for another. One can acquire his/her DSC from these government listed agencies.

The third step includes creation of an account in the ministry of Corporate Affairs

Final major step in a registration of company includes incorporating company name, registration of the office address or notice of situation of office and notice for appointment of company directors, manager and secretary.
